Governor João Azevêdo announced the universalization of the "Primeira Chance" program for all students of technical schools in the state with scholarships totaling R$ 26 million
Governor João Azevêdo announced, during the weekly program "Conversa com o Governador" broadcasted statewide by Rádio Tabajara on Monday (13), the universalization of the Primeira Chance program for all students of technical schools, benefiting more than eight thousand students from 154 state schools. They will receive a monthly internship scholarship of R$ 500. This represents investments exceeding R$ 26 million in 2024.
"A total of 8,677 students will be awarded scholarships for six months to give them the opportunity to work and answer the toughest question about professional experience when seeking to enter the job market. I am sure this action will make a big difference and will take a qualitative leap in the training of our young people, as about 70% of interns are hired by companies," emphasized the head of the state government.
The Primeira Chance program was established in 2019 as an initiative to encourage the integration of students into the job market, supporting the expansion of Professional and Technological Education in Paraíba. The program aims to stimulate student integration into the world of work; provide students with access to internships; develop mentoring and monitoring actions; and contribute to updating technical education curricula.
Participating companies in Primeira Chance are responsible for providing personal accident insurance for interns; granting transportation assistance for commuting, if necessary; and appointing a supervisor to monitor student activities.
Students are responsible for fulfilling the stipulated workload; mandatory participation in biweekly mentoring sessions; compliance with health and safety regulations of the company; and submission of the internship report within the deadlines established by the school.
Among the technical courses offered in the state education network are Environment and Health; Control and Industrial Processes; Management and Business; Informatics and Communication; Infrastructure; Food Production; Cultural Production and Design; Industrial Production; Natural Resources; Security; Tourism, Hospitality, and Leisure.
