In the period 2023-2025, according to the Center for Public Leadership (CLP), Paraíba was the third state that evolved the most economically, behind only Espírito Santo, which came in first, and Bahia, in second.

According to the CLP, the analysis considers the progress of states in relation to their own performance, seeking to understand which states showed the greatest growth in the last government term.

In Economics, 33 indicators are considered, distributed across four pillars of the State Competitiveness Ranking: Human Capital, Infrastructure, Innovation, and Market Potential.

For the Secretary of Planning, Budget and Management, Gilmar Martins, the CLP's assessment confirms that Paraíba has been experiencing a period of sustainable economic growth, with rates above the regional and national average, which should be repeated in 2026, according to projections made by Banco do Brasil.

“Full-time schools, international exchanges, support for master's and doctoral training, investments in infrastructure and science, technology, and innovation, and fiscal stability have boosted the business environment and attracted new ventures,” he said.

CLP - CLP is a non-partisan, non-profit organization that has been operating in Brazil since 2008. Its focus is on developing public leaders, engaging society, and promoting efficiency in public management through data, projects, and leadership training.
